Gutter Cleaning

To expand the life of your seamless gutter system it is important to keep them regularly maintained. Keeping your gutters clear of leaves and debris is an important part of this maintenance. Simply put, when your gutters get enough leaves and debris in them they will eventually clog and hold water instead of redirecting the water away from your home. When gutters hold water it can add a tremendous amount of weight to them and cause many other problems to your home.

We offer 2 solutions for clogged gutters.

The First Solution: Involves getting your gutters and downspouts cleaned on an annual basis. Preferably, once during the fall and once after winter. Our gutter cleaning professionals will remove all leaves and debris from the inside of your gutters and downspouts. They will then flush them with a hose to ensure full functionality.

The Second Solution: Involves getting a Gutter Guard System  (also called Leaf Guards) installed on your gutters. We will evaluate your home's roof square footage and pitch, surrounding trees, and budget to determine the best gutter guard solution for you. We will also clean and flush your gutters free of charge with any gutter guard system installation.

Problems caused by clog gutters

1. Foundation Damage

The main purpose of gutters and downspouts is to redirect the water away from the foundation of your home. When gutters get clogged and the water has no where to go it will eventually overflow out the front and/or back of the gutter. Over time, the water can cause cracks to form and damage the foundation, potentially resulting in collapse. But even if the foundation doesn't fail, the water can still cause mold growth.

2. Wood and Fascia Damage

Over time, when gutters are clogged and full of water it adds a massive amount of weight your home gutter system. This weight takes a toll on the wood that your gutter is attached to. Eventually your gutter could start to pull away from the fascia wood. Also, when your gutters are clogged the water will eventually overflow and begin to rotten your wood and stain your siding or brick.

3. Landscaping Damage

When gutters clog and water spills over the side, it often lands on flower beds, small trees or shrubs that surround the base of a home. Too much water in these areas will often lead to damage.

4. Ice Dams

Even though clean gutters can also form ice dams, the odds are dramatically increased with clogged gutters. The water has no where to go except over the sides of the gutter and with the cold climate, ice dams will begin to form more rapidly.
